Radio Cafe Gig and Other Stuff

My friend Ian and I went to Target so that I could cash in on my gift card. We strolled around and chatted as I looked through the stuff. The CD and book selection was sadly lacking. I was hoping to find Dylan's new book but it wasn't there. I had no interest in purchasing the new American Idol CD, so I contemplated buying a cast-iron skillet before breaking down and buying ibuprophen in bulk.

Here we see a heart jump-starter in the main terminal at Nashville. The caption goes like this: "for your achey brakey heart: a defibrillator donated by the Billy Ray Cyrus Charity Foundation". This stuff just writes itself.

At the departure gate, we see one of those familiar carry-on size-check frames with the caption: "If your bag fits in the box, carry on." Huh? What kind of language is that?

Here we see a little tunnel that I never saw before in Frankfurt. With ambient lights that brighten and dim, while ambient polyphony periodically jingle jangles, we find this to be a very soothing moving sidewalk experience.

Nothing to see here. Just the end of Terminal 1's section A, all squeaky clean at six am on the 2nd of January 2005. In thirty minutes I would board the plane to Dresden, wait for my baggage, find no one waiting for me, catch the bus and then the tram to take me back to my pad, where I found everything exactly as I left it two weeks before.
