[Previous entry: "Meatier Showers"] [Main Index] [Next entry: "TUGbot"] 08/15/2004 Entry: "toast of the century" I resumed work on the Toast of the Century video.
Rather, I completely restarted it. This time, though, I am holding to my promise of not putting stuff on the actual timeline until the storyboard is worked out all the way to the end. A storyboard, as you know, looks like a comic strip which maps out every trivial action in a cartoon. It's cut up into loose panels so you can rearrange them on a pinboard. I never do one, because it is time consuming. I usually just keep it all in my head and try to figure out the next ten seconds (for animation, that is a long time) or so in my head as I go. But this gets old as the film lengths run longer. So I got my little panels cut out and laid out on the bed. I guess I'll just have to sleep on the floor until it's done. But whenever I get stumped, I work out characters and scenery on paper, then draw or draft it out in the .fla; also a tedious task, but it uses a different part of the noggin' if you get my drift, so it's a little break. I like to listen to music when I work. I would go crazy if I listened to the Toast of the Century on an unending loop. So I am going through the archives of Little Steven's Underground Garage online. Little Steven plays off and on with the Boss, and owns a strip club on the Sopranos, a show I have never seen but I hear is really good.
