09/05/2005 Entry: "Torsten gets evicted"

It's Hermes Phettberg appreciation day. Why not.

He's some crazy Austrian TV and book guy who also likes getting handcuffed and whipped by dudes.

Torsten comissioned me to do this one for his literary magazine, which brings me to the point of what I really wanted to write about today.

Torsten is being evicted from his Fichtenstr. shop space (he has two stores). Now this is a real bummer for Torsten but the circumstances are most amusing.

The eviction notice came just days after Torsten fired two of his employees --friends of mine-- for what I would consider extremely minor first time offences. Frankly I think he just didn't want to have so many people working for him and decided to thin the herd out a bit.

So now he's losing his rent contract for one location because the neighboring business complained about broken bottles and such, that Torstens convenience store, being open until 12:30 every night was bringing unsavory elements into the area. The neighboring business is a brothel. I suspect that they really just have a problem being next door to a store that is open late in the night with people constantly coming and going. That probably scares off some of the more timid potential johns.

And all this happening to Torsten. I mean, have you met this guy? Know what I'm saying?

In other news I can't find my pencil sharpener since days and it's driving me insane.
