07/28/2006 Entry: "update"

Stats tell me that kein Schwein has visited my site in weeks. And why not? It's beautiful outside! So here's the dope:

All grades have been turned in. Your L-Scheins will be available in September at the latest. Certain students who failed to contact the secretary to turn in a certain form because he or she wasn't enrolled in class are screwed. Sorry, guys. No more Mrs nice secretary; I personally went on your behalf and asked, but if you didn't manage to at least put the damn form in her mailbox, that's all she wrote.

Topher's hopes of catching Tom Waites live have turned to nought due to outoftowndedness and those b-f-ing ticket scalpers. I hate those guys. They are like spammers and crackdealers and pimps and stepfathers and neo-conservatives all rolled into one.

Owen's Vernisage is Monday at the Finanzamt. Oil on wood portraits. The subjects are all people he knows quite well, and so it goes without saying that it smacks of irony to see the likes of myself, Chloe, a few other teachers, and a handful of deadbeats and stoners are to be immortalized at a fancy opening hanging in the hallowed halls of the Kaiser-built Ministry of Finance edifice.

Schaubudensommer has gotten more expensive, now that state endorsement has been withdrawn. It is not sure if it will continue next year. I certainly enjoyed the artstudied nerd-rockers Miaulina.

It has also come to my attention that last week there was yet another demonstration against the building of our new bridge. As it turns out, the Elbe meadows are a UNESCO heritage site. Shame to lose that eh? Incidently, I am proud to mention that the historic district in Nashville is also such a site. Still didn't help Planet Hollywood, but I am sure no one, let alone Arnold, is too upset about that.

Also something for Francophiles: the entire La Linea is available to view online. I don't need to tell any animator worth two craps about La Linea!

Speaking of animation, the nice creators of Odd Job Bob have made all the source material for the first episode available for download in the spirit of the ( c c ) movement! These are Flash files, y'all. 7 friggin 00 MB worth of material for one episode! Can't find the link; googlah it.

I bought a new camera on Ebay. A cheap little bastard. It came today. It is a piece of crap compared to my last dear camera, which was swiped away from my desk one evening last winter when I was away and the door was left ajar at night. Still, it takes photos, and will be useful when I'm...

Going to France next week! Off to Niort, (nyore, the t is silent, knave) the hometown of my true love Julie. There are castles, churches, canals, woods, and even a dungeon!!! and it is just an hour's drive to the Isle of Ré, where we will also be going for a day.

Picked up possibly another Flash job. It's to make an animated version of a kid's book. Shan't say more about that except that I've got some work to do.

In light of which, I might add it is rather frustrating that laptops are so damn expensive. My computer, which was a 500 Mhz thing until I upgraded it last year, had the selling price of nothing minus nothing, yet a laptop version used will take you back a couple hundred bucks. For a computer that barely can support Flash. So my vision of sitting under the Linden whilst making cartoons and uploading them throught the hotspot will have to wait one more day.

The gig in Laipsch was crap. A wonderful atmosphere, that street party, but piss poor organization. But there's a story or two to tell Mom that she'll love!

Now I'm going to watch Tintin. See ya's.
