Years ago, a former girlfriend who was into the Eneagram -- an ancient Sufi personality model -- said I was type 9. Which happens to be the same personality type of Pope John Paul II. Perhaps what we most have in common is a passion for humor. Link goes to a great article commemorating 25 years of laughs with the pontiff.

Ouch. You can get a degree in the eneagram? Is that a BE?

Shucks, I guess I meant I was a 3, like the pope. The number was not so important, just that I was the same as the pope.

I had no idea that the origins went back that far. But, the Freemasons also make some claim as to going back to the erection of the Babel tower, and if you believe that...
Anyhoo, Constanse, if you're still there, could you point us to some hard evidence to back up that claim? Thanks

I have the degree of the eneagram and the Pope is type 3.

Originally, the eneagram comes from Babylon, then comes across to Pithagoras and its oral tradition moves on to the Desert Priests (early Christianism), only then to the Islamic the Sufist monks and Gurdjieff.
